What is this saying, “E komo mai?”
We borrowed this saying from our Hawaiian friends. It literally means “come inside” or “enter.” It is often used as a welcoming statement in Hawaii and we learned it on our travels to The Big Island. We stayed at the home of a Hawaiian couple who offered their property to traveling guests and they taught us the meaning of “E komo mai.”
The saying is not only a welcome, but it is a way of life.
There is a spiritual meaning to the sentiment with an underlying meaning that we should welcome our neighbors and guests with the fullness of our ability and sincerity. We truly hope you enjoy your stay at High Tide and create great memories with your friends and family while you are here.
E komo mai.
